7. PRESENTATION ON GRASSROOTS SOLUTIONS TO CLIMATE CHANGE

On behalf of the Association for India’s Development (AID), Blacksburg chapter, grad student (and organization president) Shuchismita Biswas invites you to a talk on grassroots solutions to climate change. With more than 30 chapters in the United States, AID is a voluntary, not-for-profit organization that supports grass roots projects in India while also promoting sustainable, equitable and just development. Presenter Somnath Mukherji has been a volunteer with AID for close to two decades, working on various developmental issues in India. He is a member of the International Alliance for the Defense of Human Rights in India and is also associated with the International Campaign for Justice in Bhopal.

12. PARTICIPANTS NEEDED FOR VIRTUAL REALITY & AUGMENTED REALITY STUDY – 3rd Posting
This study makes use of state-of-the-art VR and AR technologies such as the HTC Vive Pro and Microsoft HoloLens. Study will take place at the Sandbox, Room 160 in the Moss Arts Center. Participants will be asked to complete interaction tasks in either AR or VR and asked for their comments about the different placements. The entire experimental session will take about 60 minutes. Must be an English speaker, at least 18 years old, and have normal or corrected vision. Participation will be on first come first serve basis. 13. PARTICIPANTS NEEDED FOR AN AUGMENTED REALITY USER STUDY- 3rd posting
The 3D Interaction (3DI) group invites participation in an Augmented Reality (AR) study, conducted in the Sandbox, Moss Art Center. The study is about exploring the best ways to interact with digital content in Augmented Reality systems and will take approximately 90 minutes. Participants will get the chance to interact with state-of-the-art virtual reality equipment and experience futuristic methods of interacting with digital content. The Green Tailgate Team needs your help! Their mission is to encourage tailgaters to recycle their recyclable materials on home game days. Volunteers are needed to walk between tailgates handing out recycling bags and informing tailgaters what can and cannot be recycled. The Granata Biomechanics Lab is seeking participants to help us determine whether a novice user can learn to calibrate and collect data from a force sensing shoe insole through watching short training videos. Participation consists of 1 visit that lasts approximately 60 minutes. Eligible subjects will be ages 18-30 and have no specific training in research or data collection.
